Cultivation Tips:

Epicatanthe Don Hernan 'Gold Rush’ thrives with the following care:

• Light: Provide medium to bright indirect light similar to what its Cattleya lineage enjoys. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn.
• Water:
  • For potted plants, water every 3-7 days, allowing the potting medium to dry slightly between waterings.
  • For mounted plants, mist or water daily, adjusting frequency based on humidity levels. Higher humidity allows for less frequent watering.
• Humidity: Maintain a relative humidity of 50–70%, as the Epidendrum parent favors a slightly more humid environment. Use a humidity tray or humidifier if necessary.
• Temperature: Prefers intermediate to warm temperatures, ideally 65–85°F (18–29°C).
• Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced orchid fertilizer (20-20-20) diluted to half strength every two weeks during the growing season. Reduce feeding during winter.
