Indulge in the captivating beauty and sweet aroma of the Dendrobium anosmum orchid, a delightful variety that blooms with stunning fragrant flowers. Also known as "Honohono," this orchid has captured the hearts of orchid enthusiasts in Hawaii and beyond. With its origins tracing back to Southeast Asia, from the Philippines to Thailand and Vietnam, this charming orchid brings an exotic touch to your home or garden.

To ensure your Dendrobium anosmum thrives and graces you with its breathtaking blooms, follow these simple cultivation tips:

  • Light Requirements: This orchid thrives in medium to bright light. Place it in a spot with filtered sunlight to ensure it receives the right amount of illumination.
  • Growth Pattern: During the summer, the plant develops pendulous canes, adding an elegant touch to its appearance. You can enjoy watching these canes grow over time.
  • Watering and Feeding: Between March and mid-November, water and feed the orchid well to support its growth. However, come mid-November, stop fertilizing and reduce watering to prevent shriveling canes.
  • Temperature: This orchid prefers a warm to intermediate climate, making it suitable for various regions.
  • Light and Humidity: Provide medium to bright, filtered light, and maintain a humidity level between 50% to 80% to promote healthy growth.
  • Flowering Season: Sometime in the winter, flower buds will form along the cane. The plant will shed its leaves before flowering, and once the exquisite blooms emerge, they will fill the air with a delightful raspberry and cream scent that lingers for about a month.
  • Maintaining Flower Spikes: As you notice flower spikes emerging, ensure to keep the roots more moist to avoid bud blast, enhancing the longevity of the blooms.
  • Planting and Potting: These orchids are typically grown in baskets, dangling gracefully. Alternatively, you can choose to stake up the canes and potted in a 4” basket into a clay or plastic pot.

It's essential to note that this particular Dendrobium variety drops its leaves just before the flowering season. Once it finishes flowering, new growths will emerge from the base of the plant, ensuring its continued beauty. Enjoy the alluring raspberry scent that emanates from the lovely flowers.

This is a blooming size imported bare root orchid division; newly repotted in a 4" pot or mounted in a 3" basket; about 1 to 2 years to bloom; Grown from seed; Limited!
